NextLiverpool v Bologna
Liverpool face Italian opposition once again in the Champions League and will host Bologna in Wednesday’s match at Anfield.
Arne Slot’s first taste of European football on Merseyside comes after the Reds came from behind to defeat AC Milan 3-1 at San Siro, while Bologna held Shakhtar Donetsk to a respectable goalless draw in their first match.
For Bologna, it has been a struggle since losing Riccardo Calafiori to Arsenal in the summer, as they have conceded nine goals in their first six matches.
Their impressive defensive record played a significant role in securing their place in the Champions League, as they held the third-best record in Serie A by conceding only 32 goals.
At home, Liverpool will likely go for the win right from the whistle and put Bologna under immense pressure.
However, La Grassa will try to frustrate the favourites by sitting deep and closing gaps, likely spending most of the match in their defensive formation.
