The Premier League will see a tough battle for the top of the league spot with Liverpool hosting Tottenham on Wednesday night at Anfield. The attacking duo that can hurt Liverpool
As Liverpool is struggling with injuries they are expected to face problems with Tottenham falling in with their top strikers Kane and Son. Son has scored 10 goals so far in the Premier League, while Kane has scored 9. They are both amongst the top 5 goal scorer of the Premier League this season so far. Kane also has 10 assists and leads the statistics superbly ahead of Kevin De Bruyne.
Jota and Matip out for Tottenham clash
Although Alisson was finally back against Fulham, both Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas had to follow the match from the stands. Both suffered knee injuries against Midtjylland. The new summer signing of Jota will be missed at Liverpool’s attacking line-up after scoring 9 goals in his first 17 competitive matches this season.
Another player who had to leave the field was the experienced defender Joel Matip, who had back problems. Klopp hopes to have him fit enough until Wednesday. Otherwise, we may see Henderson and Fabinho catch up with Tottenham’s threatening attacking duo.
Who will win in Liverpool vs Tottenham?
Spurs coach Jose Mourinho is expected to put up a defensive Tottenham team that is similar to what was seen against Chelsea. It will be difficult to score against the league’s strongest defence, but Liverpool boasts a very solid statistic at Anfield. On average, they stand with three goals each home game this season.
On the other hand, Tottenham has not yet been defeated away from home. They won their first 5 away matches this season, before drawing against Chelsea and Crystal Palace in their last 2.
