Referee for the final of the UEFA European Championship 2024
The final decision on who will take charge of the EURO 2024 final will be made towards the end of the tournament. This is due to the common practice in football where referees cannot be of the same nationality as the teams playing.
In the previous Euros final, Dutch referee Björn Kuipers officiated the final between Italy and England. Just a few weeks after the final, he retired from the sport, with the Dutch Super Cup final in August 2021 being his last ever game.
