England Yet to Convince Fans

It hasn’t been a convincing start to the tournament for England. They managed to secure a 1-0 win in the first game against Serbia, but in the previous round, they had to settle for a point after a 1-1 draw with Denmark.

The English media have been quick to criticise, and topping the group is not guaranteed. However, they will go through regardless after last night’s results. Gareth Southgate is expected to make at least one key change to the team tonight, with Connor Gallagher set to come in for Trent Alexander-Arnold in midfield in a bid to inject some more energy into the side. This could potentially allow players like Declan Rice more freedom to drive up the pitch with the ball and help England’s attacking players.

Southgate’s team still has everything in their own hands before the conclusion, where one point may be enough to secure the top spot in the group. However, given England’s performance so far, nothing should be taken for granted, and the final game in Group C could see plenty of twists and turns.

Slovenia Could Advance For The First Time

Everything looked good in the last game for Slovenia, who were on the verge of their very first Euros win. However, a goal in the absolute last second by Serbia deprived them of three crucial points, leaving them in a vulnerable position before the final group match.

Slovenia has never managed to qualify for the knockout stages of a European Championship, meaning that a win for them could be one of the major shocks of the tournament so far. It might even be possible for them to finish top of the group with a win against England, who have experienced their fair share of surprise results in the past.
